Chapter Awards
The
Mobile Alumnae Chapter continues to grow and still remains on the
forefront setting the stage for significant strides in the Port
City. Our illustrious chapter continues to receive awards and
recognition for our continuous support of community service programs
in the local Mobile vicinity and the sorority itself.

Juvonda
Hodge, Shirley Sessions
and Tiffany Moore were honored
as the YWCA Women of
Achievement.
Dr .Juvonda Hodge
won the Rising Star
category
for her commitment and passion in her profession as a
General Surgeon at the University of South Alabama. She promotes minority interest in the medial field, as
well as conduct panel discussions and workshops on health issues.

Shirley Sessions won the
Industry category for her
using her expertise in money matters to help women develop their financial potential.
She conducts workshops on credit repair, home-buying,
budgeting and banking to help women and minorities own a
part of the American Dream.
Tiffany Moore, who lost her sight
over six years ago, was nominated for
Beating the
Odds. She learned how to read Braille and
serves as the Secretary of the National Federal of the
Blind. She is soon to receive her Masters in Rehabilitation
Counseling at the University of South Alabama.

Congratulations
Alecia Watkins who graduated
from Alabama State University with a Masters in School
Counseling. She is the recipient of the
Counseling Student of the Year by Alabama State and is currently
employed by the Mobile County Public School System as a
teacher and Co-op Coordinator for Mary G. Montgomery High
School
Gwen Williams received
recognition from the American Red Cross for her selfless
acts of assisting families during Hurricane Katrina. She
collected furniture and clothing for these families and
housed them in her home to help them build their lives after
the storm. Kudos to you soror! |
